Testimonials

We are proud to report excellent feedback from our guests. Very rarely is there a problem that we can’t sort out, and many guests return year after year.

“Personally it is my favourite of the holiday houses/locations I’ve stayed in and definitely plan to return to the area. We did a lot of running and cycling around the villages and wine tasting at a couple of the local vignerons. And on the last night we had a great night at the village fete! We didn’t expect to end up dancing in the village until 2am!” “I just love, love, love this house. Long lazy days of bike riding, eating and drinking – the perfect recipe for relaxation.” Thank you so much for such a memorable holiday. Great house and fantastic location. Carcassonne and Narbonne both beautiful and so close. Lots of biking and walking in stunning countryside. My only issue is my French, but made easier by a very friendly French speaking village. A phrase book is essential!”

“The house is very spacious and well equipped, ample parking, and close to village. Only a short drive to the coast. Very good wine available in local chateau’s. The patio and pool area is very large and private, and secure for young children. Had a fabulous week and would recommend this hose to anyone.” Steven S, June 2015

“We had a wonderful week in this beautiful house. Lazing by the pool, cycling through the vineyards and sampling the local wines. Everything was to a very high standard and the attention to detail made sure that we had everything we needed and more. We will be returning!” Lesley S, June 2015

“This is a fantastic holiday destination, we have stayed here more than once and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. It is so relaxing, and the house is absolutely charming with all mod cons. The shops are nearby as well as restaurants and it’s big enough that even with a group there is plenty of space for everyone. Eating outside every day and lounging by the pool made it a truly memorable and rejuvenating holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.” Helen E, July 2015

“I absolutely fell in love with this house and the surrounding area. For the last 11 years ,a group of 9 of us, have gone on holiday together and each year we try a different location. Our party consists of 4 adults + 5 kids, all of whom are now ageing teenagers .After holidaying here we had our first, ever consensus….everyone wants to go back! The house is beautiful, spacious and so homely. No need to queue for showers or loos .The house is full of character and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The pool is the perfect size either for swimming, lounging or playing volley ball,or any number of water games we devised ! We had fantastic bike rides through vineyards,to local villages and towns and to our favourite place which is Ribaute which has a stunning river, great for swimming and jumping off rocks. There is a note from the owners which says “everything you want is here somewhere” which was completely true. I highly recommend this property.” Tricia, August 2015

“What a place!!! We took our two teenage children for a two week break and they didn’t moan once! Very large house but the garden and pool are so good we were hardly on the house at all. Wine tasting literally opposite was high quality but not a rip off. Small shops in village and a good bar and restaurant within walking distance. Two huge supermarkets about ten minutes drive away and many restaurants within a fifteen minute drive. Carcassonne is a must! Medieval walled town with a small train if you can’t be bothered to walk. We will definitely be coming again, especially as we managed to get such cheap flights. Thanks for a great holiday ! Oh yes and there is. Bakery over the bridge where we got fresh bread every day. Mmmmm” Laura Magill, August 2015

“We stayed here for a truly relaxing week with a group of friends. We spent most of the week chilling out by the pool and cooking and eating together. The house allows you to be together as a big group or disappear off into rooms for a bit of piece and quiet. When we occasionally ventured out from the garden it felt like we were living in a typical French village, away from the tourist trail. One night my husband and I wandered out to a restaurant in the town for a very special meal at En Catimini. A family run restaurant with stunning French cuisine. I would definitely return for another holiday here again.” Mel P, September 2015

“This is the second time we have stayed in this wonderful home. We returned as we loved the house. It is a beautiful old stone wine domaine set in grounds surrounded by trees and colourful shrubs which make the outside area not only private but just a lovely place to be. The pool is a very good size whether you want to exercise or just bob about and enjoy the peace. After our walks and bike rides – to local villages and the surrounding countryside -we spent most days just lazing around here chatting, reading, eating and drinking. It is worth visiting Narbonne’s Cathedrale Saint-Just et Saint Pasteur as well as the renowned Les Halles Market, supposed to be one of the best in Languedoc as well as the medieval citadel of Carcassonne with its history and architecture, wonderful restaurants and its own covered market. The house itself is lovely, as it is says in the details, it has a welcoming and cosy feel as you step in side which belies its size. It has been stylishly but simply furnished and all the bedrooms and bathrooms have a fresh feel to them. It is spotlessly clean and, you can tell, lovingly looked after. We would certainly go back yet again to this property – our holidays have been great ‘pick you ups’ for us both and we loved the mix of relaxation, and exercise.”
Ann Nic, September 2015

I’ve stayed in this house 5 times and each time it never fails to deliver. I’ve been with family and kids, and friends no kids, and it works for both. When you’ve got the kids, its perfect – plenty of places to visit near by, but the ultimate day is just being at the house, kids in pool, adults just hanging out. Great kitchen with everything you need, tonnes of space in the house – you’re not going to trip up over each other if you tried. Peaceful, and just a lovely feel. You very quickly forget about home, worries and work, and truly know you’re on holiday. With a bunch of buddies its the same – visit Narbonne market, buy some amazing food and then laze by the pool. Or take the bikes out through vineyards to the local villages if you fancy a change of scenery. The locals are friendly, the pub is good and the bakery is a stone throws away just case you need to consume some more calories in the form of croissant. I know its good to try and visit new places, but I just cant help going back time and time and time again. My absolute favourite place in Europe, and when I’m there I feel like I’m home instantly, as I did the first time I stayed here. I cant recommend it enough”.  Natalie, September 2015

“We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your house. It’s such a fantastic place and great to have different wings so the grandparents don’t have to hear the grandchildren at night! The village was great. The new bakers was a particular favourite. Lots going on in the area, in particular the vineyards. The only negatives purely relate to the fact that we had three under four year olds – things like the medicines being in reach of wee ones and the pool alarm being somewhat erratic but they weren’t out of our sight so not an issue but might have been for say 4-7 year olds. Michele was very friendly and ensured we were very well briefed on how to present the linen on our departure! Definitely a perfect house for an adults holiday. Also lovely to feel like you were living in someone else’s house with emergency supplies should you need them.”
The Blair Family – September 2013

“We have had a lovely holiday here. Plenty to do and the weather was superb. We ate in x 3 local restaurants – all very good and quite reasonable. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. We walked down to the local village every morning for bread and croissants, and the small supermarket ( in the village) had everything we needed.”

“One hour after arriving sporadic gunfire broke out in the street….revolution – Non!. We had just the good fortune to arrive during the rugby league final. Half an hour later we were (invited) by Michel to join the party – and brass band. What seemed like a thousand handshakes (then) ensued. What wonderful people. We danced, drank and sang with people who have been greeting us in the street all week. Thank you Clare & Nick. It’s been a pleasure to stay here, although we have never met. Michel & Natalie vousetesambassadeurs de la France!”

Dallas & family Edinburgh, Scotland – (July 2010)

“I wanted to say a quick thank you on behalf of us all for our stay in your lovely house, we really enjoyed the space, the pool and the “Frenchness” of the village and surroundings and have made a start on the local area although really didn’t do it justice as we were very happy just chilling!”What a fantastic place! There seems to have been a great deal of thought put into every detail and the house is obviously much loved and enjoyed. It is very secluded and private, but not out in the middle of nowhere, so you get the best of both worlds. We enjoyed driving around each day and finding places to go and visit, but it was always comforting to return to the house at the end of our excursions – it felt like home. Now that we have discovered this house we will definitely be booking it again.”
Mary, Isle of Wight, July 2013

“We really enjoyed the spaciousness of this lovely old rambling house. There is a great sense of space, light, and history about the place, and a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. The swimming pool and BBQ in the courtyard really contributes to the relaxation, and is a lovely place for a quiet read.
It was a bonus to have bikes that we could use, and it was fun exploring the local villages and vineyards by bike.”
Aileen O’Brien, September 2013

Josh Lawrence, August 2010

“Just a note to say thanks, we all really enjoyed our stay at Domain de Graffan last week. The house, pool and facilities were perfect, charming and ideally located to explore the area. The weather was also great and we ate out on the terrace every night. We certainly enjoyed the local food and wine and found a few tasty reds. The kids discovered a love of the film Oliver Twist from your collection that they watched almost every day when the sun was strongest!
Best wishes, you have done a great job with the property which I am sure will give you years of joy; we are all very jealous!”
Mark Pearson, August 2010

“I’d just like to say a big thank you from all of us for letting us rent you’re lovely villa. We had a great week. The village was quiet and sleepy but we did go to the wine tasting place at the end of the road when they had a live music night and had a bit of a dance. Everyone was friendly to us. I love the region and will continually come back but it was nice going out with my extended family. We were a big family group of teenagers and adults, we had loads of space. The villa was so well equipped; from badmington to table tennis, bike rides and water volleyball no-one got bored. We had long lazy lunches and evening meals. The rocking sun chairs were a huge hit we wondered where you got them from. The outdoor space was the best we have had. I would certainly recommend your villa.

There were two drawbacks though. One week wasn’t long enough and we enjoyed being at the house so much we didn’t do a lot of sightseeing.”
Mrs C Mason, July 2010

“I just love, love, love this house. Long lazy days of bike riding, eating and drinking – the perfect recipe for relaxation.”
Natalie, Witney – May 2009

“The perfect home from home. The house layout worked really well for such a large group (there were 10 of us) and the village pizza takeaway was a real hit with hungry teenagers. Already planning our return trip!”

Mrs Nicholson, London – September 2008

“A real taste of French France. To find a house with such peace in a village location was beyond our expectations. The villagers are so friendly – our French improved rapidly!”
Rena N, Newport R.I (USA) – July 2009

“Our family enjoyed a wonderful time this Summer in the beautiful Domaine de Graffan in the village of Ferrals-les-Corbieres. This authentic and historic French farm house truly was amazing and spacious with gorgeous thick stone walls, seemingly oozing with character. It was a perfect location in a totally authentic French village and convenient to Perpignan and a variety of other French villages. We rode bikes and took walks through the picturesque tracks of endless vineyards. We spend a wonderful day in the ancient town of Narbonne and had an amazing trip to the walled City of Carcasonne. Domaine de Graffan has all the comforts with a lovely pool and a private patio for outdoor eating and entertainment. It was exactly the trip we had dreamed of and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.”
